Roberta Lee Bumpus, age 59, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, formerly of Nashville, Illinois and Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 4:33 A.M. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on May 26, 1956 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Ernest and Patricia Ann (Silkwood) Parker.

Roberta is survived by her daughters, Rachel Elyse Bumpus of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Rebecca Colleen Bumpus of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, granddaughter, Rylee Rae Ilbery of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, sister, Paulette E. Copple of Auburn, Illinois, brother, Patrick A. Parker and wife Mary M. of Dow, Illinois, dear friend, Terri Allali of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, 1 niece, 4 nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents.

Roberta was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She was also a member of IBEW Local Union. She graduated with the Centralia Township High School's Class of 1974 and attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri for 1 year. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching her children's sports.

Roberta was an operation support representative for Ameren, formerly Illinois Power Company, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Nashville, Illinois for 38 years. She has lived in Mt. Vernon, Illinois for 13 years and previously in Nashville, Illinois and Centralia, Illinois.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Rachel Helgeson officiating. A Memorial Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 2:00 P.M. to time of services at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday at the church. Private family inurnment will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Roberta's memory to the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
