Ronald Glen Evans , 85, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at his home. He was born May 20, 1938, in Salem, IL, the son of Francis (Evans) Albert. He married Judy (Lyons) Evans on December 12, 1990, in Henderson, KY and she survives him in Centralia.
In addition to his wife, He is survived by three children from a previous marriage, Dianna Yates of Texas, Keith (Julie) Evans of Nebraska, and Kathy (Jeff) Minor of Florida. Also surviving are his four stepchildren, Donnie (Beth) Boothman of Sandoval, Ron (Cindy) Boothman of Centralia, Patricia (Rick) Boxx of Junction City, and Shelia (Jeff) Timmons of Cheyenne, Wyoming; along with four grandchildren, Kendra and Connor of Texas, and Bethany and Jordan of Florida; eight step-grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Albert; stepfather, Don Albert; and grandparents, Elmer and Mary Evans.
Ron worked for Central Gulf Railroad in Centralia, IL for several years. He also worked as the supervisor for the village of Odin for several years. He eventually retired from Jarco in Salem, IL.
Ron wanted the best for his family. He loved spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed working in the yard. He always kept his yard neat and clean. He also loved reading and traveling with his beloved wife, Judy to see new places.
Per Ron's choice, there will be no funeral services and he wished to be cremated. A celebration of life service will follow at a later date. Burial will be at Deadmond Cemetery in rural Sandoval. Memorial contributions may be made in Ron's honor to the Donor's Choice and will be accepted for the family at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Irvin Macz funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family of Ron Evans with arrangements.
