Obituary

Rose Marie "Rosie" Helmig, age 66, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at Friendship House of Centralia in Centralia, Illinois at 5:40 P.M. on Thursday, August 29, 2013. She was born on March 7, 1947 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Arvil Edward and Irma (Brammeier) Helmig.

Rosie is survived by her sister Elizabeth "Liz" Hughey of Centralia, Illinois, niece Heather George and husband Michael of Centralia, Illinois, great nephew Alex George of Centralia, Illinois, great niece Emma George of Centralia, Illinois, and many family members, cousins and friends that loved her dearly.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Rosie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, Illinois. She was also a member of Centralia V.F.W. Post 2055 Ladies's Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing crafts and painting. She loved to send out cards, "Rosie's Card Ministry", to her family and friends which contained newspaper clippings and cartoons, "Rosie's Confetti." Rose was always optimistic and never met a stranger. She loved everyone she met in life.

Rosie was a dietary worker for the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center for 10 years and earlier in life was employed at the family grocery store, "South Town Market" in Centralia, Illinois. She has lived her whole life in Centralia, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia, Illinois with Pastor Mark Girardin and Pastor Perry Schefelker officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia, Illinois. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Moran Queen~Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Tuesday, September, 3, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
