Rosemary Faye Hixenbaugh, age 62, of Wamac, Illinois, passed away at 4:38 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Centralia Manor in Centralia, Illinois. She was born on May 20, 1951 in Wamac, Illinois, the daughter of William "Billy Tom" and Aletta Rose (Miller) Atchison. She first married Marty Howell and they later divorced. She then married Gary Wayne Hixenbaugh on March 27, 1972 in Centralia, Illinois and he survives in Wamac, Illinois.
In addition to her husband of 41 years, she is survived by 4 sons Charlie Howell and wife Renee of Central City, Illinois, Scott Howell and wife Tracy of Bartelso, Illinois, Kelly Hixenbaugh and wife Gail of Wamac, Illinois and Bill Hixenbaugh and wife Shannon of St. Peters, Missouri, 8 grandchildren Jessica Howell, Montana Howell, Ashlee Howell, Alex Howell, Jake Howell, Gracie Howell, Aletta Hixenbaugh and Abigail Hixenbaugh and expecting a great granddaughter in October.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Raymond Hixenbaugh and mother-in-law Alma (Friend) Hixenbaugh.
She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of the Salem Sportmen's Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed taking photographs, camping and fishing. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her dog, Boo.
Rosemary was a housewife and homemaker. Earlier in life, she was a bartender at Cody's Tavern in Wamac, Illinois and retired in 1981 after 12 years of service. She was a life long resident of Wamac, Illinois.
As per her wishes, Rosemary will be cremated and cremation rites are entrusted to the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois. There will be no public visitation nor services. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions are suggested and will be received at the funeral home. Online condolences of sympathy may be left for Rosemary's family at moranfuneralhome@att.net.
