Ruth Ann (Ticknor) Malcolm , age 57, passed away suddenly at her home in Centralia early Saturday morning, December 28th, 2019.
Ruth Ann is survived by her children Sarah Cioffi (husband Kevin) of Philadelphia, PA, and Andrew Malcolm (partner Mariah) of St. Louis, MO, brother Eddie Ticknor of Sandoval, IL, sister Linda Walker (husband Skeet) of Highland Park, IL; significant other, Samuel Burr of Centralia, IL; nephews, Kevin Ticknor (wife Charity) of Sandoval, IL, and Tony Kern of Highland Park, IL, and niece Melissa Trandel (husband David) of Lake Forest, IL, as well as many great and great-great nephews and nieces.
Ruth Ann is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Florence and Edwin Ticknor, and her husband Rodney K. Malcolm.
Ruth Ann was born on July 24th, 1962, in Centralia, Illinois at St. Mary's Hospital to Florence (Crawford) and Edwin Ticknor. She was raised on their family farm outside of Sandoval, alongside her brother, sister, and her oldest nephew. Ruth Ann was the youngest of Florence and Edwin's three children. She graduated from Sandoval High School in 1980. On October 8th, 1982, she wed Rodney K. Malcolm at Centralia Methodist Church. In their love, they had two children, Sarah DeAnne 1985, and, Andrew Kent 1987.
Ruth Ann most recently was a law transcriptionist. Because of her love for travel she also opened her own travel agency, Splendid Trace where she helped her clients make their dream travel destinations a reality. Most of all, Ruth Ann enjoyed spending time with her children and pampering her fur babies. She was often traveling with her partner Samuel Burr and loved cooking.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 3, 2020 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval. Interment will follow at Peaceful Valley in Odin. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Ruth Ann's honor to Centralia Humane Society.
