Sylvia Lynn White , currently of Lake Forest, CA, formerly of Centralia, IL passed away on December 6, 2019 at the age of 51. She was born on January 2, 1968 the daughter of Harry Sr. and Barbara (Wiggins) Battle in Centralia. She married the love of her life, Gerald White, on May 5, 1988 and he survives in California.

Along with Sylvia's devoted husband Gerald, Sylvia is lovingly remembered by daughter, Tiana G. White of Lake Forest, CA; son, Darion A. White stationed in Utah; father, Harry Battle Sr., and mother, Barbara Battle both of Centralia, IL; 4 brothers, Harry Battle Jr. (Michele) of Centralia, IL, Marvin Battle (Sheila) of Edwardsville, IL, Steven Battle of Centralia, IL, and David Battle of Centralia, IL; sister, Diamond Battle of Centralia, IL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.

Sylvia was a graduate of Centralia High School class of 1986, where she ran Track & Field, was a Drum Major, and was very active with the Drama Club. She joined the USMC and was a Field Radio Operator/Administrative Assistant from 1988 to 1990. She met her husband, Gerald White, at Marine Corp Base, El Toro, CA. They were married for 31 years.

Sylvia enjoyed singing, reading, playing bingo, taking pictures, entertaining family, getting her nails done, traveling, volunteering in the community, playing co-ed softball, bowling, playing cards with family and shooting pool. She was a true lady of class, always dressed to impress with the latest fashions that she loved to shop for.

She attended the Art Institute of Southern California for Graphic Design after working as an Administrative Assistant for over 20 years. Sylvia was a beautiful lady that had a warm, giving spirit and was a friend to all. Her family will always remember her example and will carry on her legacy of love. She will be truly missed.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Centralia with Rev. Isaac Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. Friends are welcome to a visitation time from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the church in Centralia. Memorials may be made in Sylvia's honor to the Family's Wishes.
