Timothy Ray Wimberly Sr. (Wimbo), 60, of Centralia passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026. He was born on January 6, 1966, in Decatur, the son of Delbert Sonny and Maxine (Dial) Wimberly.
Survivors who will remember Tim as a kid at heart include his son, Timothy Ray Wimberly Jr. and wife Lindsay of KY; cherished grandchildren, Jaelynn, and Kaison; brothers, Del Wimberly and wife Sonya of Patoka, and Martin Wimberly and wife Jody of Odin; sister, Martina St. Peters of Salem; nieces and nephews, Cody, Logan, Marissa, Reese, Brad, and Benny; great-niece, Carleen Mae Wimberly; dogs, Anna, and Norma.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
Tim was a loyal employee at the Centralia Sentinel newspaper for many years, where everyone loved him. An avid outdoorsman, Tim looked forward to time spent in nature, fishing, and hunting deer with his family. Watching Nascar and wrestling on television was great entertainment for him. Tim was always on the hunt for a slot car set up to add to his crew. He was a collector of ducks for his Jeep, and couldn’t pass by one to add to his collection. Tim had a sharp mind, easily putting puzzles together and building models from scratch. He loved to cook sharing amazing food from what he called Wimbo’s Kitchen. Tim loved good classic rock music, turning up KSHE 95, listening to all his favorite songs while at the point. Tim was the very best loving PaPa to his grandkids, spoiling them any chance he got, and supporting them completely. He loved his entire family one hundred percent and would do anything for any one of them. Good, fun times spent with Tim will be never forgotten.
A private burial will take place. Relatives and friends are welcome to visiting hours to offer support and share memories of Tim with his family from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval. Online condolences and memories of Tim may be shared with his family by visiting maczfuneralhomes.com and/or on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
