Wallace Daniel West, Jr., age 66, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 12:25 A.M. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his home in Centralia, Illinois. He was born on January 10. 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Wallace Daniel, Sr. and Rose Marie (Horton) West Roper.
Mr. Wallace is survives by his two sons, James Kenneth West and Michael Anthony West, sister, Linda Bailes and husband Aubrey of Turrell, Arkansas, 3 nieces, Tammy Sue Morgan and husband Tom, Betty Jo Palmer and husband Donald "Flip" and Leigh Ann Kline and husband Jim, 5 great nieces, 3 great nephews, 5 great great nieces, 1 great great nephew, twin grandsons and life long friend Jay Egly of Beebe, Arkansas.
M r. West was preceded in death by his parents
Mr. West was a member of the Centralia Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2055 Men's Auxiliary and Centralia Moose Lodge 1219. He liked playing pool and played in tournaments including ones in Las Vegas. He enjoyed life to the fullest especially the time he spent with his family and friends.
Mr. West retired in 2001 as a Correctional Medical Technician for the Centralia Correctional Center. He was previously employed with the Campbell Ambulance Service and in the Emergency Room at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Illinois. Earlier in his life, Mr. West retired as a switchman from Elgin, Joliet &Eastern Railroad.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas with Reverend Eldron Gill officiating. Interment will follow in Potter Memorial Cemetery in LePanto, Arkansas. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 8, 2104 at the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. West's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the Charity of Donor's Choice and will be received at the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home or the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Local arrangements by the Moran Queen-Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois.
