Walter Moore , 89, of Centralia passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at SSM St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. He was born on September 6, 1931 the son of Fred and Grace (Trapper) Moore in Centralia. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Baldridge in August of 1951 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Centralia.

Survivors include sons, David W. Moore of Columbia, KY, and Brian (Bridget) Moore of Rochester; precious grandchildren, Joseph L. (Lynn) Moore of Chatham, and Sarah Moore of Springfield; and cherished great-grandchildren, Luke, and Eric.

Walter was preceded in death by both his parents; wife, Dorothy Moore; and sisters, Glenna, Irma, and Norma.

Mr. Moore was a loyal employee of Illinois Central Railroad where he lived out every little boy's dream of working with trains. Walter was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Centralia.

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family of Walter Moore with arrangements. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in rural Sandoval with Rev Paula Comper officiating. Those attending the graveside will be asked to wear a mask and practice social distance protocol. Memorials may be made in Walter's honor to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and will be accepted for the family at the funeral home.
