Angela Minton

Angela Sue Minton, 76, of Odin, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side on August 27, 2025.  She was born on April 9, 1949, in Centralia, the daughter of Ward and Dolores (Shackmann) Hawley. Angela married the love of her life, Ronald Minton, who preceded her in death.

Angela will be deeply missed by her children, John Minton (Amber Gordon), Jennifer (Ben) Hodge; her beloved grandchildren, Morgan Hawkins and Hannah Minton; her treasured great-grandchild, Paxton. She is also survived by her brother, Ward (Velma) Hawley; her dearest friend, Melinda Preston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Dolores Hawley; and her husband, Ron.

Angela retired from H&K Door Company, where she worked as a dedicated secretary for many years. A faithful member of First Christian Church of Odin, she served joyfully in the church choir and as a Sunday School teacher. She had a heart for music and loved playing the piano. She also enjoyed crocheting, organizing, and lending her talents to make life more beautiful and orderly for those around her.  Family was the center of Angela’s life. She cherished watching her children grow, rejoiced in her grandchildren, and treasured every moment with her great-grandson. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life while spending time with her dog, Lady, singing a favorite tune, or sharing in the laughter of her family.  Angela will be remembered as a devoted Christian, a loving mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend whose gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.  Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made in Angela’s memory to the Donar’s Choice.
