Barbara Fleming Obituary

Barbara Jane “Bobby Jane” Fleming, 77, of Centralia passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023. She was born on December 28, 1945, the daughter of John and Betty (Collins) Fair in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She married David Fleming on February 11, 1980, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2014.

Survivors that will cherish memories made of this wonderful lady include her beloved family, children, Keith Claar, John (Jerri Ann) Claar, David (Mary) Claar, Lisa Claar, Cheryl (Scott) Sauer, Christy Fleming (Joey Payne), Jeffry Fleming, Scott (Nona) Fleming; grandchildren, Jayme, Abigail, John Jr. (Molly), Jennifer, Sheena, Carli (Omar), Kayla, Lindsey (Michael), Jordan (Kristy), Collin, Raegan, Andrew, Yaeva, Avi, Tali, Logan, Addison, Treyson, Brittany, Caitlyn, Kianna, Brayden, Brock, Jaya, Jerzie, Tucker, and Oliver; 21 great-grandchildren; special friend, Matt Nealy; sister, Shirley Fair, brother-in-law Marion Harmon, sisters-in-laws Kim and Jackie, and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty Fair; sons, Marty Fleming, and Josh Fleming; grandson, Payton Claar; and niece, Melissa Fleming, sister Gail Harmon, and sister-in-law Connie.

For over 30 years, Barbara gracefully offered compassion to the families she offered care and did house cleaning for. She was not a bit afraid of hard work, tending and growing abundant vegetable gardens and beautiful flower gardens all her life. She enjoyed being a Mom, expecting her children to always give their best and loving each one. There was never a grandma who loved her grandkids more, they filled her heart with appreciation and joy. Luckily for her family, Barbara loved to cook for the whole family, hosting gatherings where everyone fought over her delicious potato cakes. After holiday dinners she loved to have her family gather around as she played her accordion and sang to the kids.  Barbara had a creative side, croqueting blankets and pot-holders for everyone and making Christmas gifts of scarfs, and hats. Barbara had a competitive side and enjoyed playing cards and dice with her church friends. She was a devout follower of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her family takes comfort in knowing she is now in her Savior’s arms. Barbara was a kind-hearted soul and an encourager to everyone she shared her positive outlook with.
