Betty Middleton Obituary

Betty Lou Middleton, 87, of Centralia passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at her home. She was born on September 4, 1936, the daughter of Oran Overton and Maxine (Daniel) Moore in Salem. She married her sweetheart, Donald Louis Middleton on October 2, 1960, at the Grace Church Methodist in Salem and he preceded her in death October 26, 2022.

Survivors include her children, Mike (Laveta) Middleton of Centralia, and Mitch (Lori) Middleton of Centralia; grandchildren, Blake (Merrill) Middleton, Brandon (Jessica) Middleton, Magoline (Kait) Middleton, and Rachel (Zach) Mills; great-grandchildren, Blake Middleton Jr., Blane Middleton, and Theo Mills; brother, Terry (Chen Chen) Moore; sister, Jerri (Rick) Chapman; and nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Along with her husband, Donald, Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Oran and Maxine Moore; sister, Jackie Sue (Sam) Flemming; and her brother, Jack Butch (Rosey) Moore.

Betty was a natural caregiver and loved nothing more than to attend to her family’s needs and provide an inviting home as a place for them to come together through all generations. She worked as a loyal employee at The Place and Herron Jewelry of Centralia for many years, helping grateful customers find that perfect purchase. After her retirement, she was a reading buddy for Schiller and Jordan Schools for many years. Betty and her husband, Don loved to travel together and share stories of their adventures to places like Scotland and the sunshine state, California. They especially loved it when all the kids and grandkids could come too, making vacation fun to remember. Betty had a creative side and could be found doing the art of basket weaving at craft fairs. She also frequented the golf course, enjoying a good game of golf and time spent outdoors. Betty was a member of Fouts Christian Church. As is the case with most grandmas, Betty found the most joy in spoiling her grandchildren, who loved their MaMaw with all their hearts. Betty will be remembered for her selfless generosity, kindness, and the way she loved and supported her family.
