Beverly Ann Petty

Beverly Ann Petty, 83, of Centralia passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at Helia Health Care in Salem. She was born on August 15, 1940, the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Erwin) Strickler of New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Survivors include her daughter, Jacqueline Johnson and husband Dexter of Centralia; precious grandchildren, Trevor and Hailey; cherished step-grandchildren, Dexter Jr., Easton, Maddoc, Carter, and Bria; 3 treasured step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Strickler and wife Margie of Pennsylvania, and Buddy Smith and wife Mindy of Patoka; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Betty and Lois; 2 brothers, Richard and Charles; and her niece, Lori.

Beverly worked as a nurturing caregiver for children in her home for 20 years, providing families a safe, loving space for their children to grow. Later in life, she shared her compassion for others by caring for elderly clients, bringing sunshine to their days. Beverly was a true, lifelong fan of Elvis Presley, collecting memorabilia, and singing along with all his music. Beverly was an animal lover and she cared for many special dogs, who were like family over the years. She was grateful to open her home to host family gatherings, doting on all her guests and creating time to make wonderful memories together. Beverly will forever be remembered for her servant’s heart, generosity, compassion, and her love for her family. 

A private celebration of life graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia with Chaplain Joannie Naraghi officiating. Memorials may be made in Beverly’s honor to the Centralia Community Youth Center and will be accepted for the family at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
