Vernon, IL, Tametra Currie of Stockridge, GA, Davisha (Favors) Marshall, husband Derek of Jackson, TN. and Sebastian Currie of Louisiana; 10 grandchildren Chaquaris, Walter, Keghan, Kimia, Emory, Nathaniel, Dionneshae, Albreanna, Corneshia, Tianna; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings Annette Duncan, Richard (Marla) Currie, Glenna Currie-Westley, Melvin (Delores) Duncan, Claudia (Archie) Currie-Harris, Debra Hayes, William (David) Currie, Michael (Mailyn) Currie, Shawna Duncan-Sponswick, and Colleen Duncan-Pieters; two best friends Ezra (Archie) Harris, since the age of three, and Jack Harting.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father Glenzo Currie, and also Melvin Duncan.

Mr. Currie worked for Montgomery Ward, Illinois Central Railroad, Kass Potato Chips, and was a substitute custodian for Schiller School in Centralia. He served as President of the United Community Club and was a loyal employee of the City of Centralia – Public Works until his retirement. All through his life he was an accomplished athlete, playing baseball for Centralia High School and he later played for the Centralia Merchants and Centralia Buds. He was so skilled with his baseball abilities that he had dreams of going pro, but a broken arm prevented that from happening. Bruce was an avid bowler and can be found in the Bowling Hall of Fame for the 2 perfect games he bowled. Bruce loved to grill 12 months out of the year, and no one could get enough of his famous chicken wings. He appreciated time to listen to music and time spent having a cold one while visiting with his friends. Bruce leaves a legacy of working hard, and valuing each day, making sure to live life to the fullest.
