Cindy E. Smith, 58, of Centralia passed away surrounded by the love of her family, Thursday, March 31, 2022. She was born on December 14, 1963, the daughter of James Russell Willis and Daisy Jean Kennison in Live Oak, Florida. She married the love of her life Richard “Ricky” Smith on April 28, 1994, in Centralia.

Along with her husband of 27 years, survivors include her beloved family, mother Daisy Jean Newcomb of Centralia; children Sarah (Jason) Cook of Fletcher, Oklahoma, Carolyn (Jacob) Pribble of Centralia, Richard Smith of Gallatin, Tennessee, and Jenifer Smith of Gallatin, Tennessee; grandchildren Hannah, Emily, Gabe, Dylan, Caden, and Abbey; great-grandson Michael; siblings James Willis, Jimmy (Jeanie) Willis, Harold Willis, Russell Willis, Rhoda Willis; stepsiblings Clarence Newcomb, David (Paula) Newcomb, Scott Newcomb, Jimmy Newcomb, Sara Newcomb, and Arthur (Sherry) Newcomb.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father James Willis; and her stepfather Gene Newcomb.

Cindy was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Centralia. She was grateful for the love and support of her church family and loved them all dearly. She had a passion for children and was a fierce protector of any child in need. This gift made Cindy the best advocate for the children she cared for while working as a youth care worker at One Hope United for 10 years. Cindy was extremely creative and loved to quilt, make custom jewelry, and crafts. She was a great cook and liked to spend time making delicious dishes for her family to enjoy. She showered her grandchildren with love, and nothing would make her smile more than when they called out for their “Gram Gram”. Cindy will be remembered always and deeply missed.
