He attended Ithaca College in south Hill, New York for 1 year before having the amazing opportunity to play professional baseball. The Pittsburg Pirates were grateful for David’s skill behind the plate and in the field where the “Bucs” would cheer him on. David then went to work as a loyal employee for Burlington Northern Railroad. In his retirement years, David kept the Carlyle Golf Course running smoothly as a welcome face providing the best customer service to all the golfers. He was active in the community and served as a member of the Centralia VFW Post 2055 and the Centralia Elks. David was quite the sports fan who enjoyed watching golf and bleeding blue for the St. Louis Blues hockey team. He had a contagious personality, never met a stranger and his awesome sense of humor kept all his friends and family laughing. He loved playing rummy, especially when he could pull out a win. David was a man of honor, was well respected, was a loyal friend and dearly loved by his family.
