Dolores D. Foster, 94, of Centralia passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home. She was born on December 20, 1927, the daughter of Glenn and Maggie (Collier) Martin in Buffalo, Oklahoma. She married Harold K. Foster on January 23, 1944, in Clinton, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on January 23, 2009.
Survivors include her beloved family, daughter Linda Rice of Centralia; grandchildren Tracey Rice, and Beth Rice; great-grandchild Erica Hix and husband Alex of Idaho; great-great-grandchildren Harper, and a baby boy expected in December; sister Carolyn Sullivan and husband Roy Gene of Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Along with her husband, Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law Gary Rice; her sisters Marquita, Glenda, and Nancy; and her brother Billy Glenn.
Dolores has called Centralia her home since 1965 when she moved here from Eldorado, Illinois. She had a generous spirt and volunteered as a pink lady at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for 23 years. Dolores was a member of both Meadow Woods Golf Club, and Greenview Golf Club, where she perfected her golf game and made many lasting friendships. She will be remembered as an amazing lady who loved her family dearly. Dolores leaves behind a legacy of compassion, support, and the value of perseverance.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Chaplain Joannie Naraghi officiating. Interment at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado, Illinois at a future date. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home in Centralia. Memorials may be made in Dolores’ honor to Residential Hospice.
