Donald Finley Obituary

Donald "Don" Finley, 77, of Centralia passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at his home in Centralia. He was born on November 14, 1944, the son of Cecil and Mary Ruth (Ethridge) Finley in Centralia. He married his sweetheart and best friend, Paulette Stamey on May 9, 1964, in North Carolina and she survives in Centralia.

Along with his beloved wife of 57 years, Paulette Finley, survivors include his children, Tammy Casseday and husband Michael of Centralia, Donald Finley and wife Laura of Centralia, and Troy Finley and wife Angela of Odin; cherished grandchildren, Adam Casseday, Amber Casseday, Daniel Finley and wife Mallory, Erin Albert and husband Tony, Allie Earl, Cheyenne Finley, Levi Finley, Chase Finley, and Tyler Finley; 7 precious great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings Dennis Finley of Centralia, and Deda Phelps and husband Mike of Wamac; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Mary Finley; and his great-granddaughter Josie Albert.

Don was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in 1993 and was privileged to serve as elder since 1995. He had a passion for sharing the teachings that had made a difference in his life while visiting families door to door with his wife, Paulette. Don and Paulette liked to hit the open road, traveling with their camper and visiting many memorable destinations around the country. They called Rend Lake and Carlyle Lake their second homes, enjoying spending time in nature, fishing, and making friends while having the best time at the campgrounds. Don felt a connection with the outdoors, and could be found hunting for deer, or bringing home delicious morel mushrooms. If he wasn't hunting or fishing, he tried to fit in time to work on his golf game whenever he could. Don and Paulette had a special bond and shared much love together, setting aside special times to share picnics by the water and reconnect. He was so proud to be a Grandpa, PaPa, and PoPo to his grandchildren and he loved nothing better than spending time with them. Don was loved and respected by everyone that knew him and will be deeply missed.

A private service will be held by the family at a future date. Memorials may be made in Don's honor to the Family's Wishes and will be accepted for the family at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
