Donita “Doni K.” Morris

Donita “Doni K.” Morris, 78, of Walnut Hill passed away Saturday June 18, 2022, at St. Louis University Hospital. She was born on March 7, 1944, the daughter of Donald and Thelma (Martin) Moseley in Olney. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Morris on August 8, 1960, in Marion, IL and he survives in Walnut Hill.

Along with her husband of 61 years, survivors include her beloved family, children Kevin (Jennifer) Morris of Walnut Hill, Brett (Alena) Morris of Centralia, and Kathy (Jason) Tadlock of Bulls Gap, Tennessee; 10 precious grandchildren; 11 cherished great-grandchildren; brother James “Randy” Moseley; sister Karen (Dale) Long; and several nieces and nephews.

Donita was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Leslie Griffith; and sister-in-law Julie Moseley.
Donita worked in the accounting department at World Color Press in Salem where she made many lasting friendships. She later compassionately cared for her patients at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon as a registered nurse. She was a faithful member of Orchardville Church which later became The Rock Church in Centralia and was grateful for her church family and their support. She loved photography and was a member of the family photo club and Lights and Lens club. She was proud to be a part of Project Linus from 2002 until 2010. Donita enjoyed gardening with her husband and made sure to can all the fresh vegetables from their weed free garden. She liked her time in the pool, swimming and doing water aerobics. Donita also enjoyed reading books in the evening with her husband, Bob. Donita had creative talent, quilting and making dresses for her grandchildren that they loved. Donita will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. Friends are welcome to offer condolences to the family from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Donita’s honor to The Rock Church.
