Donna Picard Obituary

Donna Lee Picard, 68, of Centralia passed away Friday, December 2, 2022. She was born on October 2, 1954, the daughter of Donald and Rosemary (Lafata) Picard in St. Louis, Missouri.

Survivors include her fiancé, Daniel Cozean of Centralia; her children Alyssa (Alex) McCormick of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and Garret Brown of Charleston, Illinois; grandchildren Abreigh Brown of St. Louis, Missouri, Alaini Brown of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; brothers Robert (Jeanne) Picard of St. Louis, Missouri, Donald (Lois) Picard Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri, Bart Picard of Belleville, Illinois, and Mark (Chayna) Picard of Bradenton, Florida; sisters Linda (Bill) Reed of Melbourne, Florida, Laura (Tom) Cooper of Smithton, Illinois, Debra (Doug) Weaver of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Tina (Tony) Devereaux of St. Louis, Missouri, Lisa (John) Biekert of Mascoutah, Illinois, Jacqueline (Kevin) Smith of Valrico, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her , parents Donald and Rosemary Picard, her brother Jeffery Picard; her niece Dana Tucker; and nephew Brent Picard.

Donna graduated from Okawville High School, the Class of 1973. She retired from UPS, where she was a dedicated member of the team. She had a passionate heart helping anyone she could in need; a fix-it mentality, and thought she could fix anything broken. Donna liked to rock out to Aerosmith, dancing and singing along to all her favorite songs.  Donna’s family was her greatest joy. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost and she absolutely cherished her grandchildren. As the oldest of 12 children, she many times had the responsibility of caring for her younger sisters and brothers. Donna and her family shared a special bond that kept them close in heart despite being spread out all over the country.

A private family service will take place at a future date. Memorials may be made in Donna’s honor to the American Cancer society and will be accepted at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home 234 S. Elm St. Centralia, IL 62801. Online condolences and memories of Donna may be shared with the family by visiting www.maczfuneralhomes.com and/or on the funeral home’s Facebook page. Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family of Donna with arrangements.
