Gail Anne Jennings, 69, of Sandoval passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at her home. She was born on January 16, 1954, the daughter of Walter Erwin and Ann Margaret (Jenson) Burkemo in Palm Beach
County, Florida. She married James Martin Jennings, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2022.
Survivors that will remember Gail’s can-do attitude include her beloved family, her daughter, Heather Brwon of Centralia; her sons, Caleb Jennings and wife Katie of Collinsville, Kerry Jennings of Springfield, and Jim Jennings and wife Amy of Sandoval; grandchildren, Sammy Jennings, Beau Vick, Ada Jennings; great-grandchildren, Payton, Gracie, Elijah, Zeeland, Zeppelin, Jacob, and Kora; and brother, Robert Burkemo of Florida.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Anne Jennings; and her step-grandson, Jackson Turner.
Gail was hardworking and dedicated to providing for her family. She graciously would sacrifice her own needs to give to her children and grandchildren. Gail grew up in Florida, but once she moved to the Midwest she fell in love with the area, enjoying the change of seasons and the beauty of nature. A self-proclaimed “hippy”, Gail had a beautiful, positive spirit and could see the best in everyone. She loved painting glass art and blessed many with her beautiful creations. She looked forward to camping with her family at Boulder and spending time at the beach by Carlyle Lake. Gail was so proud to be called “Grammy” by her treasured grandchildren, who she loved dearly. Gail was the heart and soul of her family, and she will be deeply missed by all.
A celebration of life service will be held by the family at a future date. Online condolences and memories of Gail may be shared with the family by visiting www.maczfuneralhomes.com and/or on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
