Gayle (Loyd) Randall Obituary

Gayle Anne (Loyd) Randall, 66, of Centralia passed away Monday, June 5, 2023, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Missouri with her family by her side. She was born on January 7, 1957, the daughter of Thomas Barney and Betty Ruth (Turner) Loyd in Centralia. She married the love of her life, Robert William Randall, on her 50th birthday January 7, 2007, by Reverend Alan Nollman at Grace Church in Centralia.

Along with her beloved husband, Robert Randall of Centralia, Gayle is survived by her brother, Marty Loyd and wife Nikki (Porter) of Odin; sisters, JoAnne (Loyd) Daily of DeKalb, Billie J. (Loyd) Hadley of Kileen, Texas, and Alma Straude of Centralia; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Loyd of Mobile, Alabama, and Divinia Howard of Oklahoma ; brothers-in-law, Richard Randall of Peggs, Oklahoma, Dave Randall of Terre Haute, Indiana, Michael Randall of Oklahoma, and James Randall of Oklahoma; and 38 nieces and nephews, each one her favorite, that she loved as her own children.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Betty Loyd; her stepmother, Evelyn Loyd; her siblings, Tom Loyd, Ron Loyd, Randy T. Loyd and wife Bonnie (McClelland), Myra Jean Isom, Shirley (Loyd) Hollingshead, Myrtle Loyd, and Carol Sue Loyd; her brother-in-law, Paul Randall; her niece, Nikkie Howard; her mother-in-law, Wilma Heytz; and her father-in-law, Robert Randall Sr.

As the youngest of 11 siblings, Gayle was doted on by her older brothers and sisters, who she loved dearly. She was a lady who was not afraid of hard work, following in her brothers’ footsteps by driving a semi-truck for 20 years. She also worked as a CNA and candy striper for Warren G. Murray Center in Centralia. Gayle was a tomboy at heart who truly loved time spent outdoors, fishing, horseback riding and roller skating in her younger years, and riding her bike to Carlyle to spend the day with her friends. She was a music connoisseur, appreciating a wide variety of music. Gayle had musical abilities of her own, writing original, beautiful songs. Everyone liked to sing along and have a good time while she sang and played her guitar. She took good care of her hummingbirds, and they always put a big smile on her face as they darted all around. She adored going to Sci-Fi Con and Archon and loved the celebration of the imagination, Filk music festivals. She looked forward to the Moonlight Ramble Bike Ride in St. Louis, singing and having fun with her friends. Gayle truly loved experiencing all that life had to offer and was a wonderful support to her family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel and Mausoleum in Centralia with Reverend Alan Nollman officiating.
