Janice Moore Obituary

Janice Kay Moore, 71, of Centralia passed away Friday, September 10, 2021, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on March 9, 1950, the daughter of Wayne and Marilyn (Rine) Johnson in Vandalia. She married her sweetheart, Charles Moore on July 21, 1984, at Farmers Merchant Bank in Vandalia and he survives in Centralia.


Along with her husband of 37 years, Charlie Moore, survivors that will remember Janice’s sweet smile include her parents Wayne and Marilyn Johnson of Loves Park, Illinois; son Tim Moore of Centralia, Illinois; grandchildren Abbigail Moore, and Peyton Moore; brother David Johnson and wife Carol of Alpharetta, Georgia; sister Cathy Nowak of Pearl City, Illinois; and nieces and nephews Luke McDearmon, Matt McDearmon, Sarah Kuhlemeier, Alex Johnson, and Catherine Johnson.


Janice was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Julie Ann Moore.


Janice was the rock of her family and felt blessed to give all her attention to caring for her family and her home. She was a lady of great faith and loved to study the word of God. She was a talented baker, sharing her skills by creating beautiful wedding and graduation cakes. Janice was a loyal and loving friend that always offered a listening ear for her friends. She liked to make the most of each day and never missed an opportunity to have fun and bring some joy into someone else day. Janice was a supportive, loving mother to her cherished son Tim and a proud loving grandmother to her precious grandchildren. 


A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Patoka Pentecostal Church with Pastor Richard French officiating. Interment will be at Taylor Cemetery in Pittsburg, Illinois. Friends are welcome to a visitation time form 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made in Janice’s honor to the Family’s Wishes and will be accepted for the family at the funeral home.
