Joseph Davis Obituary

Joseph Steven Davis, 69, of Odin passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026. He was born on June 9, 1956, in Poplar Bluff, MO, the son of Joseph Daniel and Virginia Rosetta (Koonce) Davis. He married Marilyn Ann Margaret Winckowski on September 24, 1974, in Poplar bluff, MO and she survives him in Odin.

Along with his wife, Marilyn Davis, survivors that will remember Joseph’s love for his family include his children, Ginny Petrea of Odin and Chuck Davis of Odin; grandchildren, Hailey, Alcala and David Lee, John Miller, and Jordan Rhynes; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Zane, Jayda, Fiona, Stevie, Aizen, Ivy, and Raelyn; sisters, JoAnn Nance, Carol Rist, Thelma Nance, Loretta Davis, and Vanessa Brooks; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Virginia Davis; sister, Evelyn Hill, brothers, Norman Davis, Don Davis, and Gary Davis; and his son, Alfred Davis.

Joseph served his country with honor and pride in the United States Army. He was grateful for his employment as a mechanic where he could use his talented skill in welding to do repairs on whatever the customer needed. He enjoyed time spent in nature, camping and hiking trails. Joseph was an avid hunter and fisherman who liked the challenge of both. Joseph had a soft spot for animals, and his playful cats brought him a lot of joy. He appreciated quiet time reading a good book or playing solitaire. He was a member of the Stringtown Baptist Church in Missouri. Joseph lived his life for others, he was grateful for all the simple things in life, and he was loved and appreciated by all his family and friends.
