Karole Jackson

Doris Karole Jackson age 78 of Patoka, died at Salem Illinois on July 3rd 2022 at 8:45 PM.

She was born December 13th 1943 the daughter of Raymond and Doris (Good) Britt. She married Paul L Jackson on August 10th 1963. She was preceded in death by her parents and an Uncle.

 She is survived by her husband of 59 years Paul L. Jackson, a brother David (Cathy) Britt of Patoka, a son Tony (Tammy) of Troy Illinois, her daughter Ann Dee Bent and husband Jeff of Clarksville, Tennessee, 5 grandchildren Kaitlyn (Tyler) Maxwell, Seth Jackson, Joshua Bent, Caleb (Amanda) Bent and Jordan Bent. 

She cultivated a never-ending desire to read and self-educate her whole life. She passed this love for reading and knowledge on to her children who both earned their Master's degrees. Her words:  "My husband Paul always had my back and was endlessly supportive and encouraging!"  
She was very creative and worked in all types of media:  paint, chalk art, woodcut/woodprint, macrame, and many others.  She had a real knack for tasteful decorating and possessed a strong gift for hospitality.  She loved studying to understand God's Word and to help others appreciate and apply the truths she uncovered and shared.  

She was well-loved and will be sorely missed by many.  

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Evergreen Christian Church in Salem. Interment and graveside service will follow at Harrison Cemetery in rural Patoka. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made in Karole’s honor to Harrison Cemetery and will be accepted for the family at Day Macz Funeral Home 234 S. Elm St. Centralia, IL 62801.
