Kathryn J. Winters

Kathryn June Winters, 91, of Odin passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Carlyle Healthcare and Senior Living in Carlyle. She was born on June 23, 1932, the daughter of Clarence and Marie (Smith) Cozad in Carrigan Township, Illinois. She married Donald Winters in 1960 at Salem and he preceded her in death February of 1992.

Survivors include her beloved family, children, Debbie Gramlick of Salem, Illinois, Donna Jansen of Carlyle, Illinois, Terry Winters of Odin, Illinois, and Jimmy (Rachel) Winters of Carlyle, Illinois; grandchildren, Kevin (Melissa) Gramlick, Terry (Laura) Winters Jr., Nicholas (Kim) Winters, Tabitha (Joel) Kalmer, Mitch Winters, Andrew Winters, Jameson (Jamie) Winters, Joshua Winters, Maegan (Zachery) Morlock; several great-grandchildren; and many special nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Along with her husband, Donald Winters, Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Dean Cozad, and Dale Cozad.

Kathryn was of the Baptist faith and a member of Marshall Creek Baptist Church. She was a hard worker and grateful to be able to provide for her family. Kathryn worked at Miss Elaine’s Dress Factory in Centralia and Rockwell International in Centralia. She compassionately cared for her clients while working for Addus Healthcare for 15 years. Kathryn was a wonderful mother and grandmother selflessly caring for her family and supporting them in any way she could. She was a member of the VFW, Centralia Auxiliary, and the Moose in Centralia.

A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2023 at Marshall Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Foutch officiating.   Visitation will be Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Marshall Creek Baptist Church. Memorials may be made in Kathryn’s honor to the American Cancer Society or St. Judes.
