Kyle C. Moore, 69, of Odin passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Salem Township Hospital. He was born on June 27, 1954, the son of Harold and Mary (Payne) Moore in Fairfield. He married Barbra Jungers on February 23, 2002, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and she survives him in Odin.
Along with his loving wife of 22 years, Barbra Moore, Kyle is survived by his beloved family, his children, Tyler J.R. Moore and wife Ashley of Centralia, Ashley L. Johnson and husband Mark of Centralia, and Matthew Conners and wife Katie of Celina, Texas; his precious grandchildren, Aubrey Moore, Reeve Moore, Olivia Johnson, Isabella Johnson, Eleanor Conners, and Everly Conners; and several special cousins.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Moore; his brother, Tyler Moore; and his special uncle, John Payne.
Kyle began his career in healthcare administration in 1976. He had a fulfilling and fruitful 40 year career, pioneering long term healthcare to what it is today. His passion for seniors showed daily by providing quality care with a stern demeanor while being a softy at heart. He inspired and empowered others. He was a friend and mentor to many. Mr. Moore was well respected and had a love for his community, a member of both the Lions and the Elks Clubs. He had an amazing ability to fix just about anything and could be found tinkering in his shed for hours on end. Kyle had an awesome sense of humor and smiles, and laughter naturally followed him everywhere he went. Friends and family will always remember how Kyle would sing “Are You Lonesome Tonight”, giving Elvis’ version a run for its money. He appreciated the company of his “best friend”, Baxster, his loyal dog. The love he held in his heart for his family will never be forgotten. His wife, Barbra, his children, and grandchildren brought so much joy and fulfillment to his life, and he lived to love, protect, and entertain them. Kyle’s granddaughters will cherish the memories of not being allowed to leave him without a kiss on the cheek. His grandson will carry on the Moore name for him as he always wanted with honor. Kyle loved to answer to the call of Big Papa.
A celebration of life service will be held privately by the family. Memorials may be made in Kyle’s honor to the Centralia Humane Society or St. Louis Children’s Hospital and will be accepted for the family at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
