Laura DePew

Laura DePew, 68, of Benton passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Helia Health Care in Benton. She was born on May 22, 1957, in Du Quoin, the daughter of Billy and Ruby (Johnson) Burgoon.

Survivors include her beloved family, her children, Adam DePew and wife Michelle of Dix, Brandon DePew of Odin, and Megan Goostree and husband Tommy of Benton; four precious grandchildren; and her brother, William Burgoon of Arkansas.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Ruby Burgoon; and her half-brother, Jack.

Laura will be remembered for her love of animals, especially horses. She loved nothing more than hauling her kids to horse shows and watching them compete. A passion she passed down to her kids and grandkids. Laura was a wonderful cook and loved preparing meals for her family. Most of all, Laura loved her kids and grandkids. She will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life service will be held by the family at a later date. Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family with arrangements.
