Lucille Norris Walker, 89, of Patoka passed away Friday, April 2, 2021. She was born on September 19, 1931 the daughter of Eberle and Mildred Norris. She married Deneen “Slick” Walker on June 4, 1949 at the Patoka United Methodist Church and they were married for 65 years.
Survivors include her children, son, Kenny (Suzy) Walker; daughters, Susan (Butch) Landreth, Nina (Jeff) Tune, Deenie (Shane) Forehand, and Donna (Daren) Sullens; son-in-law, Ed Parker; grandchildren, Nick Parker, Robert Parker, Lura Thompson, Eb Walker, Jeremy Landreth, Mark Landreth, Lori Stephens, Kara Belcher, Ryan Tune, Morgan Crouse, Dalton Forehand, Cole Forehand, Danielle Simpson, Walker Simpson, Dawson Sullens, and Dalaney Sullens; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband; her daughter, Connie Parker; granddaughter, Cheryle Parker; siblings Robert, Erwin, and Donna Fae Norris. Lucille was the last remaining aunt of the Norris and Walker families.
Lucille worked at Schroeder Motor Co in Patoka, St. Mary’s Hospital, Patoka Service Center, and Jenkins Truck and Farm Service. She was a faithful member of the Patoka United Methodist Church. She was well known for her cooking and her pie baking skills. Lucille loved a good game of pinochle with family members, and also, the ladies card club.
Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka is privileged to be assisting the family of Lucille Walker with arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday April 11, 2021 at the Patoka United Methodist Church with Cheryl Cain officiating. Interment to follow at Magassi Cemetery in rural Patoka. A visitation time to offer condolences to the family will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the church, where those in attendance will be encouraged to wear a mask. Memorials may be made in Lucille’s honor to Patoka United Methodist Church, Magassi Cemetery, and/or the Patoka Public Library.
