Margie Orrell Obituary

Margie Ann Orrell, 87, of Patoka passed away, surrounded by the love of her family, Thursday, December 1, 2022, at her home. She was born on October 29, 1935, the daughter of Otto and Lucy Bell (Williams) Wadkins in Patoka. She married Charles “Bob” Orrell on October 30, 1954, in Hernando, Mississippi and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1999.

Survivors include her beloved family, daughter Jackie Orrell of Patoka; granddaughter Sarah Orrell of Patoka; great-granddaughter Kala Meyer; daughter-in-law Libby Orrell of Patoka; sister-in-law Shirley Wadkins; nieces and nephews Bill Meyer of Patoka, Terry Clements of Patoka, Lisa Duff of Vera, Debbie Eovaldi of Centralia, Leann Clark of Centralia, and Mindy Piercy of Mt. Vernon; great-niece Mary Ann Hinkel of Patoka; special friends Bobby Smith, Danny Tolka, Gary Meier, and Tom Buck.

Along with her husband of 44 years, Bob Orrell, Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her son Rustin Orrell; her sister Mary Clements; and her brother Bill Wadkins

Margie had a generous heart of gold and was a strong, Christian woman of faith. Always wanting to support others in their time of need, she gave without fail to Boys Town, St. Judes Children’s Hospital, and the James Robinson Foundation. Margie was a selfless, caregiver, who lovingly cared for her husband, providing his every need. She loved to test her knowledge and be entertained while watching the gameshow network. She was a wiz at word search puzzles, and always had a steaming cup of hot tea at hand. Margie liked to spoil her poodle, Sissy and was so grateful for her companionship. Margie will be deeply missed by all her family and friends that were impacted by her generous, loving spirit.
