Marshell Young Obituary
Marshell Jones Young, 69 years old, passed away on August 4, 2025, at her home in Dallas, Georgia.
She was the seventh child born to Josephine Johnson Jones and Thomas Christopher Jones Sr. in Centralia, Illinois on February 10, 1956.
She attended Lincoln School, graduated from Centralia High School in 1974 and received a degree from Kaskaskia College. She worked at Little Fuse and World Color Press. She married Tanya Young Sr. of Mount Vernon, Illinois. She continued her education in Texas and Georgia.
Two brothers; Thomas C. Jones Jr., and Verlin Jones preceded her death.
She leaves to cherish her memory children: Tanya Jameel Young, Jameela Young, her siblings: Betty Jackson, Donald Jones, Darrell Jones (Leona), Lorena Jones, Tyrone Jones (Cynthia), and Tereda Jones, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Elmwood in Centralia with Rev. Powe officiating.
