Mary Elizabeth Cernan, 85, of Walnut Hill passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at her home. She was born on January 3, 1936 the daughter of Ferdinand and Sarah Schleifer in Nashville. She married Steve Cernan and he preceded her in death.
Mary is survived by her children, Angela Betts of Pittsburg, PA, and Lester (Serena) Huge of Carlyle, IL.
Mary was proud to be a homemaker who provided a loving space for her family to grow and thrive. She had wonderful creative abilities that she shared through her wood carving, painting and sketching. She enjoyed time outdoors, gardening and taking in the sunshine with her best friend, her dog Katie. Mary was blessed with the friendship and support of her good neighbor, Bill, and she could not have been more grateful for her kind, compassionate care givers, Connie, Patty, Katie, and Jodie.
