Matt graduated from Centralia High School, Class of 1997. He was able to lend his athletic talents to the basketball team and the track team. He was a member of the Richview United Methodist Church. Matt had many interests, he was an accomplished woodworker, creating beautiful wood pieces. He liked the peacefulness of a day spent fishing and was especially grateful when they were biting. Matt had an amazing sense of humor and a contagious personality, who had the ability to keep everyone laughing. He was great at cooking on the smoker, enjoyed time camping out, and playing games with his family. Matt loved to dance with his daughters and sing his favorite Johnny Cash songs at the top of his lungs with them. He was a true animal lover and known to spoil his dogs whenever he could. Matt was generous beyond words and would give anyone the shirt off his back if they were in need. His big, caring, kind heart was a true blessing to his family who meant the world to Matt.
