Nancy Redman Tate Obituary

Nancy Ann Redman Tate, 65, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 10, 2021, at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was born on July 30, 1955, the daughter of the late Frank E. Redman and Wanda (Farthing) Panzau in Marion County, Illinois. She married Steven Tate in 1996.

In addition to her husband Steve, she is survived by her two daughters Lori Ann Redman Lewis of Salem, and Billie Jo Bryan of Sandoval. She is also survived by stepdaughter Alyssa Tate of California, siblings Bob Redman and wife Lisa of Central City, Frank Redman and wife Debbie of Odin, Penny Sprehe and husband Gary of Centralia, Brenda Sue Redman of Centralia, and Darlene Gail Redman Smith of Texas; grandchildren Eric Lewis of Iuka, Caleb Deckard of Salem, Lacy Reed and husband Brandon of Centralia, Katie Jo Speiser and husband Logan of Boulder, and United States Marine Bryce Bryan; great-grandchildren, Keaden Wilkins, and Oliver Kip Speiser who will enter this world in 4 weeks. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins that she held dearly in her heart.

.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister Waunita K. Cohlmeyer, and stepfather Richard H. Panzau.

Nancy attended Central City Grade School and was in the “Class of 73” at Centralia High School. She was very athletic in track and field throughout those years, going to State in her Sophomore year and coming home with 2 blue first place ribbons. She was so proud of them. After high school, her 2 daughters became her sole purpose.

She loved the outdoors, waiting each spring to hit the woods hunting for mushrooms with her siblings and teaching her grandkids how to look for them. She also taught her grandkids how to fish, and spent many days fishing with her husband, and with her grandbabies. So many memories they will always cherish. She was also a caregiver devoting 5 years of her life to care for her ill mother until she passed. We could not have done this without her help. Nancy loved her family and friends so deeply in her heart. She lived each day making sure her husband, her children, grandbabies, and great grandbabies knew how much they meant to her. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
