Patricia Marcum Obituary

Patricia Jean Marcum, 86, of Centralia passed away Friday, March 29, 2024. She was born on June 16, 1937, the daughter of Robert L. “R.L.”and Lorene (Cherry) Langenfeld in Centralia. She married the love of her life, Lyle Lee “Fish” Marcum on March 2, 1957, in Centralia and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2020.


Survivors include her children, Tony Marcum and wife Nicole of Centralia, Perry Michael Marcum of Centralia, Chris Fontaine of Virginia, Scott Marcum and wife Lisa of Salem, and Byron Patrick Marcum and wife Ashley of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Lance Marcum and wife Megan, Quinton Marcum and wife Amber, Erin (Marcum) Mooney and husband Bobby, Jay Marcum, Randi Marcum, Carly (Marcum) Kane and husband Adam, Bryn Marcum and Wife Alex, Libby Wells and husband Devan, Piper Marcum, and Ryan Marcum and fiancée Bailee; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jinny Boatright, Blanche Flanagan, Cherry Neff, Margie Brethorst, Bobby Langenfeld, Ronnie Langenfeld, Cathy Jones, and Ricky Langenfeld; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.


Along with her husband, Lyle “Fish” Marcum, Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, R.L. and Lorene Langenfeld.


Patricia appreciated the value of hard work and was exceptional in her position as manager of the grocery store where she was dedicated to a job well done. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centralia. She truly found rest in working and helping others, while serving her church in the Altar Sodality, and cooking for funeral dinners. Patricia was a true people person, never meeting a stranger and making everyone feel at ease. She was an amazing cook, most famous for her delicious coconut cream pie and chicken and noodles. She always made sure that no one went away from her table hungry. Patricia was extremely creative, and enjoyed doing embroidery, making custom clothing, and doing custom embroidery. Her heart was full of love for her grandkids, and she never missed any of their sporting events, cheering each one of them on to victory. Patricia will be forever remembered for her perseverance, dedication, selfless generosity, and love for her family.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the St. Mary’s Catholic church in Centralia with Father Jim Nall and Monsignor David Darin officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Central City. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time to offer words of comfort and support for Patricia’s family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made in Patricia’s memory to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
