Paul Young

Paul E. Young Sr., 83 of Centralia, IL passed away on August 21,2025 surrounded by loving family members. Paul was born on January 21, 1942, in Bolivar, Tennessee in Hardeman County. He was born the son of Leo Young and Fannie M. (Jones) Brown & Earl H. Brown.

Paul graduated from Centralia High School and subsequently served Honorably in the United States Marine Corps.
Paul married Alfreda Young in Centralia. To this union were born: Brett Young, and Paul E. Young Jr.

Paul worked at General Motors in California for many years. He will also be remembered as a "jack of all trades" as he obtained vast knowledge throughout his lifetime fixing all kinds of things, cars, appliances, home wiring, HVAC etc. to name a few. Paul was truly a blessing to his family and to others who loved him, he will be dearly missed.

Those that remain to cherish Paul’s memory are his Special Friend Cynthia Jones Boyd; His Children, Yolanda Grier (Kevin), Paul E Young Jr., Tonshay Moss, DeVon Young, LaToya Young;  Brother, Warren G Jones Sr.; Sister, Veronica L Dixon; Sister-in-law, Terri Bates;  Grandchildren, Myles Moss, Kevin L. Grier, Austin Grier, Sean Grier, Shalanda Grier, Briana Grier, Jaychell Ward; Great Grandchildren, Quincy Grier, Carter Grier, Bellamy Grier, Soleil Grier, Akari Burden as well as a host of nieces, nephews

Preceding Paul in death are his Parents, Fannie M. & Earl H Brown;vbiological father Leo Young: Spouse Alfreda Young; son, Jermaine Ward; sister-in-law, Naomi Taylor; Mother-in-law, Helen Taylor; Sons, Brett Young, & Ty Moss; His siblings, Dexter L. Young, Bobbie J Wilks, Ocie Reeves, & Charlene Wilks.

Per Paul’s instructions, he will be cremated, and services will be held at a later date. The Family of Paul E Young Sr. wishes to acknowledge all the acts of kindness extended to them during this difficult time. The cards, flowers, visits, phone calls, food, prayers and kind thoughts are deeply appreciated.
