Philip Altadonna Obituary

Philip Altadonna, 85, of Centralia passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024. He was born on August 1, 1939, the son of Anton and Clara (Mordini) Altadonna in Centralia. He married the love of his life, his sweetheart, Brenda Spicer on July 9, 1966, in Sandoval and she survives him in Centralia.

Along with his devoted wife of 58 years, Brenda Altadonna, Phil is survived by his sons, Dr. Darren Altadonna and wife Susan of Highland, and Chad Altadonna and wife Nicole of Charleston; 7 precious grandchildren, Cameron Altadonna, Cade Altadonna , Emerson Altadonna, Simon Altadonna, Tucker Altadonna, Clare Altadonna, Ezra Altadonna; brothers, Frank Altadonna and wife Cheryl, Gerald Altadonna and wife Tami, and John Altadonna and wife Janet; sister-in-law, Charlene Woods; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Phil was preceded in death by his father, Anton Altadonna and wife Leona Altadonna; mother, Clara Altadonna; parents-in-law, Glenn and Lillian Spicer; sister-in law, Barbara Williams and husband Emil; brothers-in-law, Ken Spicer and wife Joan and Raymond Woods.

Mr. Altadonna was a proud United States Army veteran, serving from 1962-1964. He was extremely active in his community, serving as a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Centralia, and he was part of the Catholic Brotherhood of the Knights of Columbus. Phil was a member of the Centralia Elks, a member and past president of the Lions Club, and he was the past president and former member of Meadow Woods Country Club in Centralia.

Phil was a proficient banker, playing an intricate role at several local financial institutions, First National Bank of Centralia, Farmers State Bank of Hoffman, and Home Federal Savings and Loan of Centralia. He was the man with the welcoming smile and firm handshake who was grateful to offer his assistance to families searching for a loan. Phil’s athletic background fueled his love for the game of golf, and he never missed an opportunity to take his clubs out on the greens. He was a proud sports Dad and Grandpa who loved watching his kids and later his grandkids play, cheering and coaching at times from the stands. Phil had a zest for life, living each day to the fullest. He never met a stranger, he was kind and funny, and nothing meant more to him than his relationship with his family.
