Richard Ruppel Obituary
Richard Lee Ruppel, 72, of Centralia passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022, at his home. He was born on September 8, 1950, the son of Frederick and Nancy Ruppel in Lawrenceville.
Survivors include his siblings Charles E. Ruppel, James G. Ruppel, William J. Ruppel, Frederick J. Ruppel, Ronald L. Ruppel, Jeanne K. Solomson, and Joyce M. Wallace.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Nancy Ruppel; stepmother Mary C. Ruppel; and his sister Cynthia A. Rapp.
Richard worked as a cement mason before his retirement. He was a true fan of the game of baseball, playing in his younger years for Kaskaskia Community College and watching his favorite team the Los Angeles Dodgers, from back when they were the Brooklyn Dodgers. Richard liked to stay active and keep in shape by enjoying long nature walks and riding his bike. During quiet moments, he could be found engrossed in a classic novel.
A celebration of life service will be held privately by the family at a future date.
