Ronald H. Dahl Jr.

Ronald H. Dahl, Jr. 59, native of Centralia, currently of Belleville passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. He was born on October 21, 1961 the son of Ronald, Sr. and Phyllis (Owens) Dahl in Centralia.

Survivors that will remember Ronald as a protective family man include his beloved family, son, Bradley Dahl (Melissa Schuchart) of Belleville; daughters, Angela Trimble (Nakia) of Belleville, and Kaitlin Paige Dahl of Belleville; precious grandchildren, Emily, Ashley, Dillon, Nakia, Jordan, Cyrus, Jasalynn, and Preston; and sisters, Kathy Cabrera (Pedro), Kimberly Dahl, and Geneva Irvin (Matt).

Ronald was preceded in death by both his parents, Ronald, Sr. and Phyllis Dahl; the mother of his children, Kathy Burkett; and his brother, Joshua Richendollar.

Ronald attended Centralia High School and continued his education at Kaskaskia College. He was a valued employee of General Tire in Salem where he held a manager’s position. He possessed a love for learning, and after General Tire, Ronald worked diligently to earn his Master’s in Business Administration Management Information from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. It was the knowledge acquired from this degree that equipped Ronald to be successful renting and refurbishing houses for grateful families to call home. He had a passion for vintage motorcycles, and enjoyed traversing the highways and country roads on them. Ronald never met a stranger, loving to share stories while socializing at the bar. His excellent sense of humor could always bring on contagious laughter while hanging out with family and friends. He was comfortable to be around and had a gift to put others at ease. Ronald liked to watch a good movie, and sporting events on television. He was known for taking long walks, cooking delicious meals, and he had a soft spot for dogs, making sure to pet any dog he met. He was a proud grandpa that appreciated watching his grandchildren grow. Ronald’s exuberant way of living life to the fullest was admired by all his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, and will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Terry Russell officiating. A visitation time to offer condolences to the family will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home, where those in attendance will be asked to wear a mask and the number of people in the funeral home at one time will be limited.
