Ronald Winkler Obituary

Ronald Allen Winkler, 48, of Central City passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, at SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital. He was born on May 12, 1975, the son of Russell and Janalyn “Jan” (Hall) Winkler in Centralia.

Survivors include the love of his life, Angie Ellis of Central City; his son, Logan Winkler of Central City; his stepchildren, Courtney Callahan, and Cody Callahan of Central City; his grandchildren, Jaycee, Braylee, Aubree, and Kylen; his siblings, Tim Anderson (Heather) of Central City, Scott Anderson (Allison Dickenson) of Centralia, Jason Anderson (Tyra) of Mt. Vernon, Cassandra Watson of Centralia, Amanda Eckert (Rogina) of Centralia, and Russell Winkler of Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Janalyn “Jan” Winkler; and his nephew, Timothy Anderson.

As a conscientious employee, Ron was sure to deliver his loads on time while working as a truck driver for Beelman Trucking. He appreciated working hard and finding time to play hard as well. Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing, any chance to spend time outdoors. He was excellent at scoring a bullseye when throwing darts and could easily be found relaxing in his man cave. Never at a loss for words or a good story to share, Ron was a loyal friend to all and was grateful to have so many lasting friendships, making memories of fun times together and enjoying life. Ron’s carefree style, mischievous smile, and encouraging ways will never be forgotten.
