Ronnie Ray Smith

Saturday, the 8th of June 2024, the world became a little dimmer with the passing of our wonderful husband, father and papa, Ronnie Ray Smith, Sr.

Ronnie, the youngest son of Nolan and Helen, made his entrance into the world as the New Year’s baby of 1946 and continued to be a larger-than-life personality who always had a joke to tell. Although, he could not get around like he once could – he was always willing to help anyone who needed it.

He loved watching sports, tinkering with his antique cars, spending time with his kids and being the best papa that ever existed. He went out of his way to make sure you knew you were his favorite.

Ron married and later divorced Nancy Lynch, with whom he had two sons, Ronnie Jr (Angie) and Nolan and three daughters, Alena (Brett), Angie (Mike) and Rhonda. All but Rhonda survives him.

Ron spent the last 38 years loving his wife, Patricia, who survives him. During their marriage, Ron became an integral part of the lives of Pattie Jo (Scott), Trish, Randy, and Danny (Tiffany), his surviving stepchildren.

Ron loved being a papa and was so very proud of his 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  He wanted them all to have a world full of happiness.

Along with his immediate family, Ron will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Although he will be greatly missed here on Earth, we are all comforted knowing that he was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by his loving mother, whom he loved and missed his entire life. Also there to welcome him home was his father Nolan, his daughter Rhonda, all three of his brothers, Jim, Bob, and Gary, his special nephew Brian, and his niece Missy.
