Rosemary Alexander, 84, of Patoka passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. She was born on February 12, 1941, the daughter of Leslie and Marybelle (Singer) Walker in Patoka. She married Larry Alexander on September 24, 1959, at the Christian Church in Patoka, and he survives her in Patoka.
Along with her devoted husband, Larry, Rosemary is survived by her daughter Ramona Davis and husband Bob of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Allison McLaughlin and husband Brent of Oklahoma, Nicholas Davis and wife Cassidy of Oklahoma, Steven Davis of Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Cooper McLaughlin, Dawson McLaughlin, Ellis McLaughlin, Theodore Davis, and expecting baby Henry in May; and many extended family members and friends.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Marybelle Walker; and her brother, Charles “Red” Walker.
Rosemary was a lady of faith and a member of the Patoka Christian Church. She was a loyal employee of the Centralia Sentinel, Leader Union and K-Mart pharmacy. Rosemary was a wonderful cook, and everyone enjoyed her good food while visiting around her table. She was a loving, supportive Grandma Rose and GiGi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosemary will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Pratt Cemetery in rural Patoka with Pastor John Klockenga and Minister Caleb Nowlan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rosemary’s honor to Pratt Cemetery and will be accepted for her family by the Day Macz Funeral Home, mail to 234 S. Elm St. Centralia, IL 62801.
