Ruth Ann was a beautiful, kind soul that graciously cared for those she loved by giving them her all. She was definitely the hostess with the mostess, bringing everyone together for holiday gatherings. Ruth Ann was an amazing cook and she loved to teach others to cook, sharing her secret for her famous cherry delight. She felt at home in nature and appreciated time spent outdoors, enjoying the view from her campsites at Forbes, Coles Creek, and Rend Lake. Ruth Ann was a master with flowers, growing lovely rose bushes and nurturing many plants from season to season. She enjoyed looking for treasures while out antiquing and hitting rummage sales. In quiet moments she liked to crochet pieces to gift to family and friends. Ruth Ann loved to take peaceful rides with her husband, Sam, where she would drift off to sleep in the front seat. She was a fun, loving, supportive Grammy to her precious grandchildren, who loved her dearly. Ruth Ann will be remembered for her love of her dogs, spoiling them anytime she could. Ruth Ann made an impact on her family that will carry through from each generation and her loving ways will never be forgotten.
A celebration of life service will be held by the family at a date in the future. Memorials may be made in Ruth Ann’s honor to Irvin Macz Funeral Homes to aid her family with expenses and will be accepted for the family at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
