Sarah Panilawon Obituary

Sarah Marie (Schlau) Panilawon, 37, of Desoto, MO passed away, after a three year continuous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family, Saturday, October 5, 2024. She was born on December 16, 1986, the daughter of James and Diane (Cook) Schlau in Centralia. She married her best friend and the love of her life, Sean Panilawon on April 28, 2023, in Hillsboro, MO and he survives.

Along with her devoted husband, Sean, Sarah is survived by her mother, Diane (John) Burris of Centralia; her father, Jimmy (Missy) Schlau of Centralia; her beloved children, Samara Desiree Panilawon, Lillian Ann Panilawon, Kaia Marie Panilawon, and Mila Mae Panilawon; brother, Greg (Rhiannon) Storm, and Corey (Alexis) Schlau; sister, Sarah (Shea) Hodge; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Teresita Panilawon Huber and Curt Benjamin Huber; sister-in-law, Tiffany Ann (Nicholas James) Corirossi; brother-in-law, Michael Ray Throgmorton; nieces and nephews, Harper Dean Storm, Braylon and Turner Hodge, Isabella Rose, Alana Ann, Nora Marie and Lorelei Lynn Corirossi; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Sarah was a beautiful lady inside and out, who could light up a room with her contagious smile and radiant grace. She loved with her whole heart, always seeing the very best in everyone she met. Sarah was an encourager with her words, actions and the way she lived her life with boldness and without abandon. Her kindness and generosity to others was unmatchable as she truly lived each day to serve others. Relationships were of the utmost importance to Sarah, and she made sure to be an intricate part of her family’s and friends’ lives. She was the one calling up her friends to bring them all together for a fun day out or sending a card to brighten someone’s day. Sarah attended Grace Life Church and was grateful for the love and acceptance she experienced there. She loved to have all her family gather at her home, showing her skills as the “hostess with the mostess”. Luckily for friends, neighbors and family, Sarah had a passion for cooking, making deserts from scratch. Her delicious pies, cheesecakes, and German chocolate cake could make your mouth water by just thinking about them.

Sarah loved the beauty and peace found while spending time outdoors, catching the colors of a breathtaking sunrise while camping. Much to the strain of her husband’s back muscles, she was a notorious, organized over packer, bringing enough supplies to set up a mini kitchen at their campsite. Of course, when the tantalizing aromas of the meals she prepared hit his nose, all was forgotten as they could share another wonderful meal together. Sarah was known to spoil her furry babies, her dogs with treats and belly rubs, while they extended their unconditional love to her.

Sarah was super intelligent, hard-working, an indispensable, dedicated employee, who didn’t know the meaning of the word quit, and she relished a challenge. Hearts are heavy with the weight of the loss of this amazing woman, but her light, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, love, and grace will endure in the lives of her devoted husband, cherished children, supportive parents and in-laws, dear siblings, special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, and amazing friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home 234 South Elm Street in Centralia with Pastor Kevin Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Andereck McClelland Cemetery in rural Sandoval. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time to offer words of comfort and support to Sarah’s family from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the funeral home in Centralia and one hour before the service on Friday.
