Stephen Edward Lusch

Stephen Edward Lusch, 61, of Odin passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at his home. He was born on January 17, 1961, the son of Bernard “Beanie” and Betty (Rostance) Lusch in Centralia. He married Linda Bierman, 1 child was born of this union, and they later divorced. He married Angie Cates and she survives in Mt. Vernon.

Along with his wife, survivors include his beloved family, his daughters Stephanie Johnson (significant other Danny Miller) of Browns, & Sherri Lukasik of Christopher;; son Jacob Wood of Walnut Hill; grandchildren Simon Miller, Frank Lukasik, and Mason Hill; siblings Tom (Cindy) Lusch, Mary Ferrell, Chuck (Cindy) Lusch, Larry (Gail) Lusch, and Mark Lusch (Lucy Bikulcs); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Bernard “Beanie” and Betty Lusch; sister Ann Lusch; and brothers Mike Lusch, and Phil Lusch.

Steve was a skilled carpenter and previous owner of Lusch Construction, later working as an independent contractor. He loved his time outdoors, hunting for mushrooms, arrowheads, and wild game. Steve had a green thumb and could grow anything in his garden. He liked to go out and spend the day fishing and relaxing by the water. Steve became instant friends with everyone, as he never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He had a huge, compassionate heart and would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. Steve was the best grandpa and was happy to share how proud of his grandchildren he was. Family was of the most importance to Steve and the moments spent with them were his most treasured. Steve will be remembered as a hard worker, a friend to all, and a generous family man, who will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life service will be held on a future date by the family. Memorials may be made in Steve’s honor to the Family’s Wishes and will be accepted at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval.
