Steven Price Obituary

Steven Mude Price, 68, of Centralia passed away Wednesday, November, 3, 2021 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born on May 24, 1953, the son of Francis Dean Price I and Gladys Adelia (Begole) in Quantico, VA at the Naval Base Hospital. He was raised with the help of his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Hazel Begole.

 

Survivors include his beloved family, beloved daughter, Nicole Loss and husband Timothy of Centralia; precious grandson, Noah Emmitt; dear siblings, Vicki Heimann and husband Michael of Hoyleton, Dawn Collier of St. Louis, MO, Elizabeth Vinson and husband Perry of Nashville, IL; Francis Dean Price II and wife Robin of Laguna Hills, CA, Nancy Sisak and husband Robert of Monroe City, MO, David Price and wife Christine of St. Louis, Rebecca Noleman and husband Darren of Centralia; treasured Godson, Josh Sisak of Fenton, MO; special aunts, Catherine Begole, Harriet Bruere, Grace Begole; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. 
 


Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Gladys Price; paternal grandparents, Jack and Ruth Price; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Hazel Begole; aunts, Barb Ann Begole, Joan Russnack and husband Richard.

 

Steven being raised in a military family served his country with pride in the United States Marine Corp during Operation Urgent Fury on the Island of Grenada. After his service, he went on to be a career Marine, being an Instructor of Communications, teaching other young soldiers at Twentynine Palms, the world’s largest Marine Corps training base.  Steven retired after 20 years as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was a devoted father making sure his daughter had great role models in her life always surrounding her with family. Steven was always the protector and leader of the family naturally being a great patriarch.  He did have a soft spot for his grandson, Noah and all animals especially the stray cats in his neighborhood.  Steven enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical or technological all while listening to music.  He was very analytical.   Steven had a servant’s heart always helping others on their cars and construction in their homes. Steven was highly respected and loved and will be remembered as a devoted father, grandpa, brother and friend.


A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2021, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Chaplain Joannie Naraghi officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Centralia VFW Post 2055 American Legion Post 446 directly following funeral services. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Steven’s honor to Wounded Warrior Project.
