William M. Glenn, 55, of Chicago, Illinois exited this life on May 5, 2019, at West Suburban Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was born on May 10, 1963, the son of Jimmie and Margree (Fowler) Glenn in Centralia, Illinois.
Survivors include his children, William Glenn Jr. of Cicero, Illinois, and Denese Sharkey of Centralia, Illinois; grandchildren, Da’Montreal, Janaya, Jalaya, Denzel, Dwayne, Dymond, and De’Vore; siblings, Jimmie Glenn of Centralia, Illinois, Diann Glenn of St, Louis, Missouri, Jo Ann Glenn of Centralia, Illinois, Dorothy (Rev. Gary) Linton of Carrollton, Texas, David (Nancy) Glenn of Tacoma, Washington, Bobby (Christina) Glenn of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Patsi Glenn of Centralia, Illinois, Ritchie Glenn of Champaign, Illinois; maternal aunt, Gladys “Sandy” (Danny) Phillips of North Port, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Margree Glenn; grandparents, Edward and Magnolia “Maggie” Glenn, and Howard and Dorothy Fowler.
William was a free spirited, kind-hearted soul. His family nick name was “Knuck”. He is remembered as one of the nine younger siblings who always played together growing up with his brother Bobby who he called “Pal”, and his sister Patsi who he called “BeBe”. William was a dedicated fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls, and Cubs. In conversation, he often expressed his fondness for the City of Chicago. William attended Centralia High School and later earned his General Education Diploma. He was employed as a laborer in Chicago until he became disabled. When William called home he would let you know about his son and daughter, and ended every call with ”I love you”.
A private service will be held by the family.
